For the first time in a little while I was actually excited for this semester to begin. I finally decided to change my major. I chose to go into something that I hope will be helpful to me in the future. I went form an education major to a communications major. Yes I am still in agriculture because that is something that will always be very near and dear to my heart.
So far this semester has been exciting and crazy busy all at the same time. With all the excitement of changing my major two days before the semester started and practicing for an event during Greek week on my campus this past month has been interesting. The communications classes have been exactly the change I have needed so far. They have sparked an interest in school that I was lacking there for a little while.
This change was not an easy decision at first. I was afraid to change because I was afraid I would make the wrong decision. I am a horrible decision maker so this was really hard for me. I am always afraid that I will make the wrong choice and then it will come back to haunt me. On top of that I am a people pleaser. I am afraid to make people mad…sometimes. This time though I feel like I have made the right decision for myself.
If you are going through a rough time of figuring out where you want to be sit down and make a list of pros and cons for whatever decision you are making. You may think that sounds silly but it really works. Once you see it on paper it is so much easier to make your decision because it is staring at you in black and white. Secondly, do not be afraid to take a chance on something new. You may find exactly where you are supposed to be if you take the risk. (I have had to teach myself to be a better risk taker.) Lastly, whatever you decide to do give it your all. You will only get out of it what you put into it no matter what the situation is.
All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
